In 1996 Motor Jikov, more famous for providing practically all Jawas with their carburettors and fuel taps, came out with a complete motorcycle in the form of the MJ50 or Dandy. It was manufactured by Motor Jikov themselves in their factory at České Budéjovice, Czech Republic. This had a Sachs designed, 2 stroke, air cooled, single cylinder engine of 49.9cc in a rather crude looking frame with very stylish, sports bike bodywork.
There seem to have been 2 versions, a restricted 2.6kW (3.5hp) version and a full power 4.6kW (6hp), 53mph, version.  These were sold with the Dandy name or sometimes just as MJ50.  Although sometimes referred to as a Jawa, it seems that this version was never sold badged as a Jawa.  A few of these were imported into the UK, as the MCN test report (link on the right) shows.
All of the data below was taken from an official owners handbook.

In about 1999, following some sort of involvement of the Jawa brand, the Dandy was revamped with the change of engine from Sachs to a more powerful engine manufactured by the Italian company Motori Minarelli, a specialist engine manufacturer associated with, and later to become part of, Yamaha. This version used the same frame, bodywork and cycle parts as the older ones, the major change being that the Italian engine was water cooled.  There seemed to be only the one, green and white, colour option available and this model was frequently sold with Jawa badges.  The handbook for this bike has JAWA UNION on the cover.  It is not known if it was still manufactured at the Motor Jikov factory, like the previous Sachs engined model, or by Jawa themselves.
