A long term test report from a 1973 Czechoslovak Motor Review

Introducing the first Babetta - from Czechoslovak Motor Review issue 4 / 1971

Prototypes of this model were made in 1970 and full production started in 1971.  The original models were fitted with large 23” wheels but these were soon replaced with 16”. This was very advanced for its time, bieng the first two wheeler of any kind in the world to be equiped with fully electronic ignition.  The model 28 was replaced in 1975 by the model 206/207, the principal difference bieng that the later model had sprung rear suspension.
